After a couple of exciting weeks in New York I'm back on the home front keeping busy. Our lean-to is getting new windows next week. I've been prepping for reinstallation of the alarm sensors. A little nervous because I'm not sure exactly how new sensors will be installed. I have not seen the structure of the new windows and I don't know how much cooperation I'll get from the installers.

On the website front I've been doing "behind the scenes" tune-up. This has included image keywords and adjusting navigation button sizes so they load more reliably. I finally found a searchable X5 help blog in English. Looking forward to getting answers to some of my questions.

This my last update for at least a couple of weeks. High priority stuff going on. Funny thing, I "accidently" found a dead link this morning. How many more? I employed Google Analytics on a couple of pages. I provides traffic and usage data on the website. It will be quite a task to incorporate it throughout because I have to install some HTML code on each page. Yikes! Of course, there isn't any traffic to analyze. However, I did get a visitor from Alaska yesterday. I also need to write keywords on every page. My reaction: In time...

I just finished a full pass through the Travel section attempting to fix formatting inconsistencies, grammar errors, and misspellings (let's call those "typos"). Some of the images need tweeking. I really want to have the keyboard arrow keys step through the images, but it appears that the program I'm using (WebSite X5) can't do that. Also, I'm floundering on the use of "anchors," which the program does have. I just can't get them to work.

A special thank you to Dr. Jeff Wilson, esteemed professor and scientist at Albion College, Albion, Michigan. Jeff reviewed the nearly completed Travel section and provided a valuable critique. I'm implementing some of his suggestions which should be completed in a week or so. Getting better. Thanks, Jeff.

This is the first "News" post in a while. Just this morning I completed text descriptions of the final 2 travel pictures. I've been unable to upload interim files to my host site for a couple of weeks. After several hours on the phone (and days at the keyboard) it seems to be working now. I will attempt uploading when I finish writing this little missive. Next step is to create some maps to go along with the travels. Looking forward to that...I love maps. There is also some text and photo editing to do, but that will wait until I feel the urge.
