We took a side trip toVeronato see a performance ofGiuseppe Verdi's (1813-1901)opera Aida at the renownedArena di Verona. Being crammed, literally, shoulder to shoulder in blazing heat on sandstone blocks made for an awful experience. Don't buy the cheap seats.
